What is AURO Decking Oil?

AURO decking oil is a natural wood protection oil made from a blend of plant-based oils (tung oil, linseed oil, sunflower oil, etc.) and natural pigments. Unlike many conventional products, it contains no synthetic resin additives or petroleum-based solvents.

How to apply?

1. Surface preparation:
   • The surface must be clean and dry.
   • We recommend cleaning the surface beforehand with linseed oil soap.
   • Required air temperature: +12°C to +28°C, relative humidity 40–65%.
2. Oil application:
   • Apply a thin layer using a brush or felt roller.
   • After 20–30 minutes, wipe off excess oil with a dry cloth to prevent blotches.
   • We recommend applying two coats. Apply the second coat after 24 hours and wipe off excess oil after 20–30 minutes.
3. Drying time:
   • Approximately 24 hours.
   • Full drying: 2-3 days depending on air humidity and temperature.

Coverage

• 1L covers 12-20 m² (depending on wood type).
• The second coat typically requires 40% less oil than the first coat.

Safety and Storage

• ⚠ Oil-soaked cloths can self-ignite if not stored properly.
• ⚠ Always immerse used cloths in water or burn them after use.

📦 Storage

• Expiration date: 24 months (at 18°C).
• Store in the original, tightly sealed container in a dry place.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Surface Cleaning and Maintenance

• For daily cleaning, use warm water and avoid aggressive cleaners with a high pH level.
• For washing and additional protection, we recommend using linseed oil liquid soap.
• After several years, we recommend renewing the protective layer with the same oil.
